Find Your Joy - a 10 week course offered by Louise Fletcher. This is week 2 assignment: I'm dragging out old sketchbooks and prepping new ones. On the left is a newly painted hard-cover book - using left over paint from my palette - much more fun. On the right is a road trip exercise - only if you're the passenger! Using a credit card, create a page full of outlines and then quickly sketch what's in front of you. It forces you to simplify! Give it a try!
I am now a member of The Connected Artists Group hosted by abstract artist, Alice Sheridan. Check out her website! https://alicesheridan.com In today's lesson I learned about using a great program called Canva which allows me to create designs like this:
You can always contact me directly if you have enquiries about a painting, whether it’s to see more details or ask about shipping. I would like to receive info about Jeanne's art
Yes - I'm a workshop junkie! I am taking a free, weeklong course with Louise fletcher, a CVP alumni and student who offered a taster course, "Find your Joy". Due to family visits and a serious summer cold, I just started the assignments today - a week behind but I'll get it done. The assignment was to tape off a large sheet of paper into 6 sections and then paint without trying to make a painting, using the whole sheet, ignoring the sections. I painted and hated what was happening - but I continued and finally called an end to the torture!!! The results were a surprise. I am the featured artist at my favourite coffee shop, The Bean Scene in downtown Vernon, 30th Avenue across from Towne Theatre. If you're in the area, please drop in for the best espresso and a view of my work.
This was an interesting week focused on 'Risk' and 'Soul' - daring to take big risks, and in doing so allowing the soul to show itself. I am intrigued but painting will have to wait - the grandkids are here and they are too much fun to be with!! I'll get back to the studio later next week and jump into this very challenging topic.
